The Idea of Forestrypedia

Forestrypedia – the largest website on Forestry and associated sciences in Pakistan – was a dream come true. Though I am also a part of Tech. Doing stuff on YouTube and working on numerous websites like Tech Urdu, I wanted to incorporate this knowledge of mine with Forestry, and hence, Forestrypedia came to happen.

The Purpose of Forestrypedia

When we look at Forestry related stuff on Internet, we see some valuable stuff yet scattered and not available (free) to everyone. I faced the same problem while I was doing my Masters at Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Though there are some great books available at PFI Library, yet, outdated and not up to the current Global Standards.

Forestry is not an art; it is a Science as well, so I always thought of adding Tech in Forestry Studies and wanted to bring something techy, something new. Although, I managed to write some notes for B.Sc/M.Sc Forestry Students, yet that was not sufficient.

Forestrypedia is the single platform where you can find all latest updates and information regarding climate change and global environmental issues. It will update you with latest reports and research going on. It will be the hub to connect all Environmental Loving people and will share their ideas with each other. Last but not the least, it will be the source of all study related stuff you need for completing your Forestry (and associated environmental sciences studies) and appearing for any Competitive Examinations.

How does Forestrypedia work?

The information shared on Forestrypedia are gathered from a large number of sources (websites, research blogs, news, books, teacher lectures, etc). So, if you come across any misinformation, please let us know (use comments section), we will try to update it asap. Also, anyone who wants his articles/reports/thesis/research papers, etc. be published on Forestrypedia, please contact us.

Is Forestrypedia FREE to use?

Of course, it is. It is totally free to use Forestrypedia. All the stuff available in Download Section is Free to use. BUT, please note that the use of Forestrypedia, for non-commercial purposes, is totally free, no need to take permission for its use for educational purposes. Yet, prior to using any part/whole of it for monetary/commercial purposes, written permission must be asked – otherwise, copyright claim could be made over it and legal actions will be taken as per law.

Is Money Generated on Forestrypedia?

Yes, Forestrypedia is Monetized with Google (AdSense) and money is generated on it. The more the traffic on Forestrypedia; the more will be the revenue from it. The money generated is from the Advertisers who advertise with Google and later Google partners with Forestrypedia in advertising. You see ads here and there, these are ads and each click on any Advertisement is the source of Money for Forestrypedia.

Also, you see other advertisements by books publishers, brands, etc. These also are the source of revenue for Forestrypedia.

Where is the Money Utilized?

After fulfilling the basic expenditures (domain registration fee, etc), all the money earned from it will be used for any Forestry/Wildlife/Environmental etc purposes.

In the coming days, once Forestrypedia gets a better position (financially), writers (preferably students from anywhere in Pakistan) will be paid for any special writing be it a research paper or any other informative stuff (that is not based on copy/paste of course). This update will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

Forestrypedia Credits

This one is the toughest part to write down. Well, Forestrypedia is not an individual’s effort. It includes the efforts of every single person who is serving for a better climate; for a healthier future.

Everyone at Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar is an integral component of Forestrypedia. Be it the PT Incharge who let me skip the games and write the notes (sometimes) or the friends who provided me any valuable stuff found anywhere. The teacher’s lectures, especially, are really important who enlightened me to come up with such ideas. Really thankful to everyone.

What is Next for Forestrypedia?

Everything of I have ever dreamed of came true (Al-hamdolillah). Now, the next step is to make this forum a tool not only spreading information regading Forestry and Other Environmental Fields, but also make it a source which can provide financial support/help in improving the climate and make the world a better place.

With your support and suggestions (which we always welcome), we’ll take this forum to the next higher levels on each passing day, Insha Allah. So, Let’s Green it!
