Family: Elaeagnaceae.


Description & Location: A Tree cultivated in Balochistan and wild in Kashmir. Also native to Chitral and has great medicinal values. Native to western and central Asia, Afghanistan, from southern Russia and Kazakhstan to Turkey, Iran, and parts of Pakistan.


Local (Urdu) name: Sanjit. Other Names: Russian olive, Sinjid, Sinzali, Sinjoore, Sinzlai.
