How to Find Area of a Place using Square Grid Method

TO FIND OUT THE AREA OF MASTUNG DISTRICT BY SQUARE GRID METHOD

Hence the area can be calculated as under:
From fig we came to know the following information:
Number of Full squares: 144
Number of Half squares: 24 => 12
Number of Quarter squares: 16 => 4
Hence, Total number of squares = 160 —————————– (1)
Since the R.F. is 1: 16,000, therefore, the necessary calculations are as follows:
1:16,000
1 cm = 16, 000 cm
1cm2 = 16,000 cm * 16,000 cm
1cm2 = 256,000,000 cm2
1cm2 = 256,000,000 / 10,000 m2
1 cm2 = 25600 m2
1 cm2 = 25600 / 10,000 ha
1 cm2 = 2.56 ha
From equation number 1, it is clear that the total number of squares is 160, now to find out the area of the whole map, we have
Area of map = 2.56 ha * 160
Area of map = 153.6 ha
