Punica granatum

Location: Found wild in Zhob and an important fruit crop of Northern Balochistan. In Pakistan pomegranate grows wild from 1000-2000 m, throughout the western range, (Baluchistan, N. & S. Waziristan, NWFP, Kurram, Dir, Chitral); grows gregariously on dry limestone soils in the salt range and in the Hazara, becoming scarce further east. Also found in the Kashmir and Himalayan areas.
