CHAPTER VI
DRIFT AND STRANDED TIMBERS

  1. Collection of all such timber either marked or unmarked
  2. Acceptance or rejection of Claimants appeal
  3. Disposal of unclaimed timber
  4. The Govt shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of timber




CHAPTER VII
PENALTIES AND PROCEDURE

  1. Persons having rights are bound to furnish any information like any forest offence, damage, etc and shall be bound to use his best efforts
  2. Power to close forests that have been burnt or otherwise damaged
  3. Power to close waste land in case of violation of the provision of the act
  4. Punishment of act in contravention of order passed under Section 36
  5. Power to close land illicitly cultivated
  6. Power of seizure of forest-produce unlawfully removed
  7. Power to release property seized under Section 39
  8. Punishment for unlawful seizure
  9. Penalty for counterfeiting or defacing marks on trees and timber or altered boundary marks
  10. Power to arrest without warrant
  11. Power to release on bond a person arrested
  12. Power to compound offences

FOREST OFFIECERS

  3. Forest Officers deemed public servants
  4. No Forest Officer trade in timber, except with permission of Local Govt
